Android users are familiar to this term. Rooting means to completely access everything  in  the    operating system.                                                                                                                                   

If you are Linux user you must know that Android is running the Linux kernel. Root is a standard       Linux function.Some people use to compare rooting with Jailbreak of IPhones However they are completely different.                                                                   

ROOTING ADVANTAGES......

You can completely changed the look of your device e.g The boot animation , the battery icon             

in-short you can completely changed the software of your mobile.

You can get rid of pre-installed 

You can move installed apps to SD-card and free system memoryfor better functionality and performance                                                                                                                                             

  ROOTING DISADVANTAGES........

A root Android phone has no warranty. Major mobile companies remove the warranty tag of their    phone if once it is rooted.

Once you root your Android Phone then you are responsible for security and integrity of operating system. If you don't take it seriously then your Android phone will soon become a paper weight.

 The purpose of rooting your phone is to improve its performance, but in doing this sometimes phone lost its performance and its speed.
